Description
The mapping population comprised a sub-set of 112 F₂ individuals obtained from a cross between ‘Brasília-1252’ (a line with heat tolerance as well as resistance to root-knot nematodes Meloidogyne javanica, M. incognita, M. arenaria, and to the fungus Alternaria dauci) and '6274B' (an inbred line adapted to the Northern Hemisphere). A genetic linkage map of carrot (Daucus carota) was constructed based solely on random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers.
This map represents the linkage groups of the male parent ‘B6274B’. Genetic distances between adjacent markers were estimated using Kosambi function.
The map is composed of 51 RAPD markers. The total map length is 539.1 cM in 12 linkage groups.
