Abstract
Prangos trifida (Mill.) Herrnst. et Heyn is a rare and critically endangered plant of Crimea. In this study, the complete sequence of the P. trifida chloroplast genome was determined using the NGS method. The complete plastid genome is 153,510 bp in length with a typical architecture containing a large single copy region (LSC: 86,481 bp), a small single copy region (SSC: 17,445 bp), and a pair of inverted repeats (IRa and IRb: 24,792 bp). A total of 113 unique genes were annotated, including 79 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. The coding capacity of the plastome is 57.81%, and the overall GC content is 37.75%. The phylogeny reconstruction based on the complete genome sequences of 25 Apioideae species strongly supports the placement of P. trifida as a sister to a clade of three species of the Apieae tribe.
