Schefflera 'ovalis.narrow' sp. ined.: Unbranched tree to c. 8 m with a clear bole to c. 7 m; coastal forest disturbed by gardening; alt 2 or 3 m; petioles green, mottled with darker green patches, very stout with woody lenticels at the base, this latter somewhat swollen and connected above to a long stipule; stipular ligules c. 20 cm long, quite thick and leathery but drying and then easily broken during processing, grey-brown, long and tapered, remaining green adaxially, usually with termites nesting at the base; leaflets usually c. 12 (but can go up to 16), c. 29-41 cm long x 10-16 cm across; petiolules c. 10 cm long; inflorescences light-green covered with light brown scales, easily rubbed off; flower buds in distinctive pink clusters, tinged white at the base of the bud
